Ms. Rachel O’Connell

Rachel O’Connell is the Head of Financial Reporting at Maynooth University.  She is responsible for managing the end-to-end audit process, preparation of the Consolidated Financial Statements, monthly, quarterly and year end close, management of tax compliance and reporting to internal and stakeholders including ARC, GA, HEA and the IUA.

Previously, Rachel spent two years working and travelling in Australia before relocating to London. Whilst in London, she worked in Thomson Reuters in financial accounting (Financial Controller for Middle East and Africa) and subsequently managed a team of business partners supporting the Finance & Risk business.

Rachel holds a first-class degree BA (Business and Politics) from Trinity College. She is a qualified accountant, having trained in Deloitte, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
